Lanre Moyero emerges president of Rotary Club of Ondo

The Rotary Club of Ondo, District 9125, Nigeria has installed its 37th president, Rotarian Lanre Moyero to oversee the affairs of the club for the year 2020-2021. He took over the leadership of the club from the immediate past president, Rotarian Agbada , after completion of his one-year term, at the investiture ceremony held this weekend in Ondo City .

In his acceptance speech, Lanre Moyero promised to dedicate himself to the cause of Rotary and make positive contribution to the continuance and well being of humanity.He said the club would continue to also leverage on skill sets and vocation of members to deliver service to the host community and society in general.

Speaking on his vision for the year, the newly installed President said some of the projects slated for the current rotary year include the donation of free glasses to needy, provision of school items to pupils of Primary School to provide conducive environment for learning.Others include, basic project in his community and empowerment of Widows.

The president also revealed plans to organise health attack awareness campaign and other related ailments to sensitise the public on healthy lifestyle adding that the club would conduct screening for individuals and offer solutions during the period.He said the club is working to ensure the communities around Ondo feel Rotary impacts through execution of impactful projects.

Stressing the important of giving back to society, Lanre Moyero urged Nigerians to rise to the aid of the less privilege in the society.He said: “We must always remember the less fortunate among us, and the fact that abundance comes as a result of giving ourselves to others. This is who we are as Rotarians, we know that the more we give of ourselves, the more we are likely to receive.”

“That is why in any of our programme, we try to sensitize and encourage people to join rotary because it is only by joining that you may develop a heart of giving. There is no amount of humanitarian services that is adequate. You just have to do your best and put smile on the people.“

Noting that only government cannot affect lives everyone, Lanre Moyero called on individuals and the private sector to join hands with the club particularly in the area of polio eradication, which they are championing. Also speaking at the event is the chairman of the occasion, Rt Hon Mayowa Akinfolarin, he charged the members of the club to be all inclusive in their giving, and appreciated them for recognising the need for the private sector to collaborate with the government to help develop the communities nothing that government alone can not do all things. He described Rotariaian Lanre Moyero as a super philanthropist that the people of Odigbo is so proud of. The Orunja of Odigbo Kingdom, Oba Akinrimade was also in attendance to grace the occasion with other two powerful kings from Ondo South Senatorial District of Ondo State. This the king said, they must be here with him to tell the world that he, Lanre Moyero is a Man they are very proud of. Friends, family, other clubs he belongs to were also in attendance to felicitate with the new president.
