Abodi, Others pay tributes to a worthy son

Distinct, worthy and reliable. These three words perhaps describe the personality of Olumuyiwa Daramola, cosmopolite, medical expert, foremost philanthropist, high rate member of the All Progressive Congress in Okitipupa /Irele Federal Constituency and son to Former Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Prof. Claudius Omoleye Daramola.
Muyiwa who is the Founder and Sole Proprietor of Daramola Olumuyiwa Foundati has empowered several numbers of people running to hundreds from Okitipupa and irele Local government areas of Ondo State with different empowerment programmes targeted at raising the standards of living of the people from long time neglect and sufferings.

This he has been doing for some years back even without any political undertone through his NGO, Dr Olumiyiwa Daramola Foundation.

Recently ,he ,Dr Daramola doled out several empowerment items worth over N50 million to his People as part of efforts towards making his people economically viable and self reliant.

The presentation of the items which include, Construction and commissioning of Several Bore holes in Ode Aye, Irele ,, Ikoya and Erinje, Empowerment for over 200 widows which include Grinding Machines, Generators, Clothes, and over 5 million Naira cash to set up small scale businesses, which was flagged off in the presence of All the Traditional Rulers and chairmen of the 2 local government in Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers at the flg off ceremony, the Abodi of Ikale Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba G. B. Faduyile who spoke on behalf of the Obas Eulogized and commended the Young man for the launch of the empowerment program for the benefit of his people.

Part of the packages rolled out, through his non-governmental organization, by this young and vibrant son of Lumeko Dynasty in Ode –Aye, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State also Include the registration of no fewer than forty (40) students for the forthcoming Senior School Certificate Examination of the National Examination Council (NECO), donation of drugs to Six primary schools across the two local governments areas, Donations of other material to Six Schools across Irele and Okitipupa Federal Constituency. An unprecedented visionary symbol, Daramola who always attributes his success in life to God and to the Ikale Community’s ethos of haed work and perseveranc e also donated a pair of artificial Leg to an indigent son of Irele, Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State. He also granted him schorlaship to any level in his pursuit of education.

Although he is not given to publicity, mention must be made of the school uniforms he donated to four secondary schools namely Comprehensive High School, Ode – Irele, Akotogbo Community High school, Akotogbo Stella Maris College, Okitipupa and Methodist High School, also in Okitipupa .
And as if that is not enough, Saturday third July, 2021 was remarkable in the history of Okitipupa Local Government Area as the foundation laying ceremony of an orphanage in Okitipupa by the Foundation. According to this political whizkid, the event was another milestone in his efforts to raise the standard of living of his constituents. He expressed appreciation to the people for their unflinching support and commitment to good governance as demonstrated Governor Akeredolu in Ondo State.
His words; “We are gathered again in honour of my people. I have been doing this even when I never planed to venture into politics. In my past empowerment programs, several families were empowered and uplifted economically. Today’s program marks another step in the direction of enhancing the living standards in Ikale communities. I charge all the new set of beneficiaries of the program to make judicious use of the items to grow their economic fortunes and values”.

Meanwhile, the Director Generalof the Muyiwa Daramola Foundation, Hon Afolabi Iwalewa has disclosed to the good people of Okitipupa/ Irele Federal Constituency that his decision to empower his people was borne out of his Principal ‘s irresistible urge to contribute to the development of his people stressing that our people must be living well and enjoying dividends of our nascent democracy.
Iwalewa, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC, and Aformer Member of the Ondo State House of Assembly solicited the support of his people for the APC government in the state. While he assured the people that Governor Akeredolu would never disappoint them, he urged them to shun rumour mongering, blackmails, pull him down syndrome and all other unwholesome acts that combine to give people the impression that politics is a dirty game. The crown Prince of Akotogbo in Irele Local Government Area called for continuous support for the Akeredolu Administration which he stressed th has made lots of positive impacts on the lives of Ondo State people.
In a related development, Segun Ajimotokin, Chairman of Irele Local Government appreciated the Foundation and the Proprietor for the wonderful gestures. Ajimotokin whose exploits cut across the three tiers of government (a Lawyer, Former Legislature and Current Executive Chairman of HIS Loca Government) did not mince words when he rated Irele as a stronghold of the All Progressive Congress in the state even as he urged the people to keep faith with the party.


A law to provide for the establishment of the Ondo State Security Trust Fund and for other connected purposes is underway.This was revealed at a public hearing tagged “Security Trust Fund” by the Ondo State House of Assembly, and it was held at the conference room of the assembly.

The Speaker , Rt. Honourable Bamidele Oleyeloogun who declared the Public Hearing open emphasized the irresistible need for greater funding in the security sub –sector of the country in view of the extent to which insecurity has become a hydra-headed monster in the country. Hon. Oleyelogun urged individuals, organizations and private sector to support the initiative of the security trust fund in the interest of all.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, House Committee on Security, Culture, Tourism, Community Development and Cooperative Societies, Hon. Ololade Gbegudu haS pledged that the lawmakers would do the needful by ensuring speedy passage of the bill into law.

Several stakeholders were present and they contributed in varying degrees to the debates. Such stakeholders included representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Ondo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, Civil Society Organizations and Ondo Internal Revenue Services, among others, who took turn to speak on the bill even as notes were taken for necessary amendments
