ODUDUWA WOMEN ADVOCACY GROUP, a pan Yoruba socio-political group has frowned at the inclusion of only seven (7) women (making 16.2%) in the list of ministerial nominees submitted to NASS, and non inclusion of any woman from the south-western geopolitical zone of the country, despite the fact that women account for 47.14% of registered voters.
The National President, OWAG Modupe Akindele-Martins while appealing to the Government to consider appointing more women into positions, said the group will continue to cry out against marginalisation of women especially Yoruba women in participatory electoral processes and the sharing of the benefits of democracy.
OWAG therefore enjoined other women groups to come together to work for the actualization of the 30% inclusion of women in policy making.
It congratulates the women nominees, urging them to be good ambassadors of Nigerian women.
