….Bags of Rice Shared to Cushion Economic Downturn During Yuletide Season
In a gesture of goodwill, Senator Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, who represents the Ondo Southern Senatorial District, took it upon himself to distribute bags of rice to the people of his constituency. These rice bags were part of the palliatives provided by the government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They aimed to alleviate the impact of the economic downturn during the Yuletide season.

Senator Ibrahim had previously disclosed that the procurement and supply of the palliatives were delayed by the contractors responsible. However, he announced that the bags of rice had finally arrived and decided to distribute them among the people. To ensure fairness, a committee carefully apportioned the rice among different strata and organizations in the district. The distribution took place at the University of Fortune in Igbotako.
Recognizing the logistical challenges, the billionaire business mogul allocated N1 million to cover the transportation costs of the palliatives to various locations within the district. The beneficiaries of these palliatives included traditional rulers, religious leaders, and transport unions such as the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), among others.

The distribution center was graced by the presence of notable figures, including Alhaji Yusuf Lateef Olajide, a Muslim leader, and Pastor Gbelela, a Christian leader. Additionally, representatives from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and executives from local governments across the 66 wards of the Ondo South Senatorial District were in attendance.
