In a hearty message to mark International Youth Day, Omo’ba Okunjimi Odimayo, Chairman of the House Committee on Population and Member representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, has hailed Nigerian youths as the nation’s MVPs (Most Valuable Pillars) and future game-changers.

Odimayo, clearly a youth enthusiast, described young Nigerians as “a dynamic force with boundless potential,” while humorously noting that their resilience often puts even adults to shame. “Youths are the ones making it happen—from tech start-ups and music charts to politics and memes. If Nigeria were a car, they’re the fuel keeping it moving, despite all the potholes!”

The lawmaker didn’t just stop at praise; he assured Nigerian youths that his sleeves are rolled up and he’s hard at work creating opportunities for them. He highlighted his skill acquisition programs and employment initiatives as proof that he’s not just talking the talk but walking the walk.

“Our youths are architects of tomorrow—though let’s admit, some of them already think they’re Elon Musk today,” he joked, before emphasizing the need for policies that support innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

Odimayo also urged youths to harness their energy and creativity for the good of the nation. “Whether you’re coding an app, leading a protest, or just figuring out how to hustle in this economy, remember: you’re building the future one brick at a time,” he quipped.

In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Odimayo encouraged young people to embrace government reforms aimed at fostering inclusive growth. He ended his message on a motivational note: “Our youths are not just leaders of tomorrow—they’re the movers and shakers of today. So keep shaking, just not the tables too much!”

As Nigeria celebrates International Youth Day, Odimayo’s message was clear: the nation’s young people are a force to be reckoned with, and their contributions are the real deal for a brighter, better Nigeria.
