
*JEGEDE PICKS NOMINATION FORMS: JOURNEY TO ALAGBAKA HAS JUST BEGUN*
It was fun and fanfare today, sunday, 31st May 2020 as the people’s choice and incoming Governor of Ondo State expressed his interest to run and also launched his Manifesto tagged “My Offer for Ondo State” at the State PDP Secretariat, Alagbaka, Akure.
Wellwishers and party faithfuls from around 9am started converging at the residence of Barrister Ejitayo Jegede. At about 12.40pm, a convoy of almost 100 vehicles left his residence and arrived at the State PDP Secretariat around 12.50pm.
The opening prayer was said by Chief (Mrs) Ebiwonjumi Esther around 1.14pm.
Thereafter, the State Caretaker Chairman introduced party leaders, past and present elected / office holders as well as other dignitaries. He commenced his speech by introducing Barrister Eyitayo Jegede and spoke so glowingly about him to the audience. He also said that Expression of lnterest and Nomination forms go for #20m and #1m respectively and that aspirants can start picking the forms at Wadata
House in Abuja from 4th June, 2020.
At about 12.51pm, Barrister Eyitajo Jegede expressed his appreciation to the newly constituted State Caretaker Committee members, other past leaders and all party members for sacrifices made to keep the party together and successes achieved in time past. He further enjoyed the Committee members to be up and doing as the gubernatorial election approaches.
He specially appreciated the women wing of the party and encouraged them to continue to work for the success of the party. He also saluted the Opomulero Group, which he referred to as “worthy soldiers” and that they always give their all to support worthy causes without recourse to financial consideration.
He expressed his desire to revamp the education and health sectors from its current decadence and promised to also focus on other sectors too. He further made financial contribution to the running of the State PDP Secretariat. He ended his speech by 2.36pm. Thereafter vote of thanks and closing prayers was said by Hon Ogungbuji around 2.45pm. The gathering dispersed by 2.50pm
