The Akure South chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) received a significant boost today as hundreds of All Progressives Congress (APC) members, led by Otunba Oyediran Afolabi, joined the PDP.
In a colorful event held at the Oluwatuyi area of Akure, the defectors, numbering in the hundreds, stated that their former party, the APC, has derailed and can no longer serve the interests of the people. They expressed their desire to avoid the potential catastrophe that may befall the APC in November.
They emphasised that only individuals who are mentally derailed would consider the APC as an option during the November election, given the degree of hardships and suffering the people are subjected to daily. They insisted that the Agbofessy ticket would bring relief to the people if elected.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Agboola Alfred Ajayi, PDP gubernatorial candidate, reiterated his commitment to improving the lives of the people and assured the defectors that there would be no discrimination in the PDP, promising that everyone would be treated equally.
