Presidency: Why Nigerians Need Bukola Saraki in 2023

As political parties, especially the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), prepares for the 2023 general elections, it is imperatives for party leaders across the country to put up their thinking caps and focus on winner-ability instead of which zone or region the president will come from.
Another major area of concern to Nigerians is for parties to present a candidate that will be a link between the young and the old, someone who can bridge the wide gap between the north and the south, a detribalized and transitional leader.
In the view of majority of opinion leaders, the women and youths, the former senate president and Chairman of the PDP National Reconciliation Committee, Senator Bukola Saraki fits perfectly into the above description.
Senator Saraki has demonstrated over time his ability to provide the needed leadership when it matters the most. As Governor of Kwara state for eight years, his footprints are indelible and no one has been able to out-match his overwhelming credentials. He kept his father’s legacy in the state until the last moment which earned him the title of “Oloye”
As Senate President, Senator Saraki successfully checked the excesses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari for four years. It was during his time as Senate President that the ‘not too young bill’ was signed into law, giving Nigerian youths the opportunity to contest as President of Nigeria.
Senator Bukola Saraki as President of the Nigerian Senate, stopped the APC and President Buhari at the time from excessive borrowings. Today, Nigeria is heavily indebted both locally and internationally because of the docile attitude of the current leadership of the Senate under Senator Ahmed Lawan.
To add to his devastating popularity and acceptability, Senator Saraki was recently selected as the PDP consensus Presidential Candidate by northern leaders and the establishments in the country.
The PDP must put their house in order and consider the most important thing, which is to take over power from the current tyrannical government of the APC before talking about sharing power. You cannot share what is not in your possession.
Senator Saraki is ready to provide #realsolution to Nigeria’s hydra-headed problems which has been compounded by the failures and incompetence of the President Buhari’s led APC administration.
