Ondo APC Grows Stronger as Hon. Agboola Ajayi Defects to the Progressive Family

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State is set to record another major political milestone as the former Deputy Governor of the State and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 16, 2024 Governorship Election, Hon. Agboola Alfred Ajayi, formally defects to the APC today, Monday, 26th January, 2026 at Apoi Ward 2, Kiribo, in Ese Odo Local Government Area.

Hon. Ajayi will be officially received into the APC on behalf of the Executive Governor and Leader of the party in Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. (Dr.) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative and Party Affairs, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, alongside the Caretaker Chairman of the APC in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, and government officials from Ese Odo Local Government.

Today’s event is the first phase of activities leading to the grand reception scheduled for Akure, where Hon. Agboola Ajayi and other political heavyweights will be formally welcomed into the APC before a gathering of party faithful and stakeholders.

This development is a strong testament to the growing appeal, internal cohesion, and purposeful leadership of the APC under the Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa-led administration, as the party continues to consolidate its base and attract seasoned political actors who are committed to the progress and development of Ondo State.
