*ALAFIN CELEBRATE A YEAR ANNIVERSARY: INSTALLED SIA AS THE FIRST OTUNBA OF AFIN KINGDOM*
There was a wide jubilation and it was an historic moment yesterday in Afin Akoko as the Kabiyesi, Oba Prof, Abdulroheem Mustafa Adejoro and the Alafin in council preferred and conferred in Rtd. Rear Admiral ,Samuel Ilesanmi Alade (SIA) yet another chieftaincy title as the Otunba of Afin Akoko.
Recall, that SIA political hegemony has been receiving and witnessing a huge boost considering his past and present achievements even when he was a naval officer and as a stateman. his developmental contributions is second to none!
Meanwhile, late last year (SIA) was conferred with two chieftaincy titles within 48hours, one at his home town in Oyin Akoko and the other at the capital seat of his local government, Okeagbe Akoko (Aare Ataiyese and Jagungboye respectively).
In his opening speech, the Alafin of Afin, Oba Prof. Abdulraheem Mustafa Adejoro, said Alafin in council thought it wise to bestow SIA this very prestigious title due to his numerous contributions to the development of the town, ranging from employment, empowerment and financial support. The Kabiyesi, then used the occasion to ask for more support from him. Later, the Kabiyesi blessed and prayed that his political aspiration shall come to pass.
In his words of acceptance, the Aare Ataiyese, the Jagungboye, the Balogun of Akure Kingdom and the first Otunba of Afin Akoko, appreciate Afin dynasty and Alafin in council for counting him worthy for this position and he promised not to take it for granted and to continue to do his utmost best towards the actualisation and development of Afin Akoko, he didn’t stop at that, he gave the town some money for the renovation of the palace and promised to do more when called upon.
The event was also graced by eminent APC chieftains both at the local government and the state levels. SIA supporters from the senatorial district also flood the event.
