HON. EBENEZER OLANREWAJU MOYERO
He is one man who is not afraid of embarking on any venture once he is convinced, a trait attested to by many people who are very close to him. Rather, he will challenge himself and have utmost confidence in his ability coupled with providential guidance. He knew reasonably that nothing good comes easy-hence his strong determination to combat all challenges with doggedness thereby making a success story of every endeavour.
Ebenezer Olanrewaju Moyero was born about 60 years ago to the Ewenla lineage in Odigbo, Ondo state. He had his secondary education at the popular Isero Grammar School, Odigbo before proceeding to the Institute of Education, University of Ilorin for his A levels. He subsequently attended the then Ondo State University Ado Ekiti for a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy.
While schooling, his love for football was unmistaken as he did on several times involved himself in football and others sporting activities but quickly recoiled back to engage himself in academic study. Upon graduation and after several but futile attempts to secure a befitting job, he traveled out of the country in search of a greener pasture
He traversed many countries in the Europe before settling down with a friend in Russia in the year 2000. His love for sports particularly football got better part of him as he worked to secure FIFA license as a Football Agent. While in Azerbaijan, he met with a British journalist with whom he later formed the first African Football Academy named Sport Success Football Academy. This became a veritable ground for the recruitment and export of Nigerian and other African Footballers to other parts of Russia and beyond.
Having equipped himself with this experiences and exposure, he returned to Nigeria in 2007 to form MOYERO FOOTBALL CLUB envisioned as an Academy to prepare young talents in Nigeria for eventual export to the European and Asian markets. The success story of the Ondo State based football club is evident in the number of participation at the FA Cup and other Football competitions where it represented the state.
Olanrewaju Moyero is a member of Football Intermediary Association of Nigeria and had attended several conferences on football and other sport in many countries of the world including, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, France, USA, Italy, Germany, Holland, Denmark. He is indeed an icon and a blessing to ondo state in sport development.
With his level of involvement and engagement in youth development and empowerment, it is not surprising that he found himself in the political terrain. He was active in his home local government and in the state at the early stage of Labour Party (LP) and was prominent in the struggle to reclaim the governorship mandate of the party and known for his mobilization drive at the grassroot. This quality made him an asset to any political camp he pitches his tent and this accounted for the pomp with which he was welcome to the All progressives Congress (APC)when he decided to join the party.
This amiable gentleman apart from his involvement in sports development also enjoys flourishing business enterprises. He is the chairman MOYERO IMPACT INVESTMENT LIMITED that specialized on the importation of automobiles from the Europe and USA under his auction license.
A man of several parts, Lanre Moyero is reputed for his social and deep religious inclination. He is the Patron of the Senior Staff Club, Akure and the Radiant Heart Ladies Club, International, Akure. His several engagement at St. Saviours Anglican church, odigbo where he worships informed his investiture as the Otun Balogun of the church and the patron of the church’s choir at Anglican church, Ore.
