The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo flagged off the release of 4068 of the 80,804 inmates in 253 correctional facilities nationwide, who have been held in custody due to their inability to pay fines.
Several private bodies were mobilized to get this in place and it is the first step in the #RenewedHope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) to introduce global best practices, which include activating non-custodial measures in our correctional system
