Accolades, these days, are often showered in the wrong direction. Those who truly deserve it hardly get, probably for material or popularity reasons. Nevertheless, our searchlight will shine so bright on a personality who deserves lots of respect.
Honestly speaking, Yele Omogunwa must be profoundly respected as far as Irele Local Government Area of Ondo state is concerned. At the level of Ikale and Ondo State, Yele Omogunwa is indisputably a match make of Agagu and Olusegun Mimiko. Yelena Omogunwa is presently the number two “Leader” in Irele Local Government after the demise of Baba Akinbuwa otherwise known as Baba 10/10.
Omogunwa has never been overambitious. That was perhaps the reason he was not made the 1st Chairman of Irele Local Government, a position he already had in his pocket. Yele had to search for a reputable person to govern IRELE at which stage he sought out one Dr Akinwunmi who was lecturing in Ikere College of Education. When Akinwunmi humbly turned down his offer, Senator Yele moved on to Deacon Ifayefunmi of blessed memory who was then lecturing in Port Harcourt.
Yele Omogunwa installed Deacon Ifayefunmi as the number one Executive Chairman of Irele Local Government. After his demise, however, Yele Omogunwa once again became the 1st Irele Leader followed by Idowu Ogunlade, and then Mesewonrun before talking about others.
